Planning our virtual museum

This morning the G&T year 5 and 6’s have been planning what they want to include in Silverstone’s virtual museum. They have used both mind mapping software on the Internet and the traditional pen and paper approach to plan their topic. From the history of crashes here at Silverstone and a biography of Lewis Hamilton to the how long it takes to build a Formula One car. The next stage involves some researching over the Internet, using books we have here at the Study Centre and maybe even interviewing important people around the circuit to gain additional information about their topic.

The gifted and talented pupils from the Sponne cluster arrived this morning to start their virtual museum project. Having explored the circuit and learnt about some of the history of Silverstone, the pupils are now being challenged to start generating ideas for a museum. Sponne Cluster’s First Day at Silverstone

Today we are expecting year five and six gifted and talented pupils from the Sponne Cluster. They are coming to start their new virtual museum project based around the history of Silverstone. I wonder what they’ll be like?! We’ve got many activities in store for them today, I hope they enjoy it.

Happy Birthday
Birthdays are special because they are on the day you were born!

Baths
The trouble with baths is they are too hot and they are sometimes too hot and they are some times too cold. I only like it deep with bubbles.

Stickers
The trouble with stickers is they sometimes stick to your skin an I only like different sorts of stickers.

The Umpety Boompty Machine

Once upon a time there lived two children called Molly and Lucy. Lucy was the eldest aged 7 and Molly was the youngest aged 5. One day Molly wanted to make something with her real new tool box. Lucy suggested an umpety boompty machine. “Yes let make an umpety boompty machine” said Molly. So they set to work for one hour and when they had finished they put the ingredients in and it made them into lemon lollys. Molly loved it.

One day Jessica, Fred and Amy were watching football. “I want a football” said Fred.
“What?” shouted Amy and Jessica. Then Amy, Jessica and Fred went to bed. They all read a book. “I love books” said Amy. “I am reading the Princess and the Frog” said Amy.

Then it was Easter. Amy glared at her school, how wonderful. She met Milly her friend- ding dong! She went into school.

The Time Travellers by William Martin

James and Joe were time travellers and had travelled back 6,000,000 years ago. They were with the cavemen.
James and Joe tried to speak with the cavemen but the cavemen didn’t understand: ‘Oooh ooooh ooooh’ they said.
One of the cavemen raised his club and took aim and swung it at James and Joe. Luckily it missed and hit a tree an then they ran for it.
They ran to the back of a dark cave. They thought they were trapped! Then they saw the time machine. They got in and travelled forwards in time to 2009.
They were happy they were back and were happy the cavemen no longer existed.

Learning – how do you eat yours?

Year 3 and 4 have been reviewing the way they like to learn.

Some of them are able to use their logical skills whilst others prefer to be told how to do something. Some prefer to do it for themselves and then be shown how to do it if they need help.

So, the question to ask is – how do you eat your learning? Take a look at the different styles on the Home page of this site!
